A great way to develop leg strength and stamina, which will allow you to strike with more power, is to perform a variety of kung fu stances.
You develop strength and stamina in your legs by holding these stances as low as you can go, with proper form, and for as long as you can hold them.
It’s a good idea to practice these stances at least a couple times each week. Learn how to get in and out of them quickly, and use them to build strength and flexibility in your legs.
The most basic of these stances is the horse stance, which I discuss in the first video below. There are a couple more varieties of the horse stance, and beyond them, we have a few more transition type stances.
